About Trinidad Retreats
Your Friendly Hosts on the Redwood Coast
Since 1997, Trinidad Retreats has been the premier vacation rental management company in Humboldt County. We manage a curated collection of homes along California’s Redwood Coast, including Trinidad, Arcata, and McKinleyville.
Our Story
We’re Jonna and Reid Kitchen, active general managers of Trinidad Retreats. After moving to Humboldt County more than 25 years ago, we fell in love with the North Coast—its redwoods, beaches, trails, and vibrant food scene. Over the past decade, we’ve grown thoughtfully from Trinidad into neighboring communities while maintaining a boutique approach and managing a limited number of high-quality homes. We take pride in every property and in the lasting relationships we build with our owners and guests.
We now live on California’s Central Coast and work remotely with our exceptional local team of property managers, reservation staff, and housekeepers—so when you book with us, you’re working with true locals dedicated to making your stay feel like home.
Local, In-Person Services
Your on-the-ground hosts and property managers are Ryan Roberts and Hope Morello. Longtime Trinidad residents, they know the area inside and out and love sharing favorite restaurants, hikes, beaches, and local events. With deep hands-on home care experience and proximity to the properties, they’re just minutes away when you need assistance.
Experienced Staff with High Standards
Many of our housekeepers and maintenance professionals have been with us for years. They know each home intimately and keep them in excellent condition. Our priority is a smooth, professional experience from booking through checkout—whether you’re selecting the perfect vacation home or exploring property management services for your own home.
Comforts and Thoughtful Touches
Every home is comfortable, well stocked, and prepared for arrival. We provide high-quality linens and free WiFi in all properties, plus a thoughtful set of starter supplies:
- Dish soap and dishwasher detergent

Before you arrive, we perform a personalized check-in service—warming the home, opening curtains, and ensuring everything is ready.
